ABOUT THE EVENT

☀️Celebrate the Summer Solstice with us!☀️

Join Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness for a weekend of gathering, creativity, and celebration as we honor the Summer Solstice and the abundance of summer. Through stories, food, poetry, and Indigenous arts, we give thanks for the season and the relationships that sustain us.

In the spirit of kinship and collective liberation, we also recognize Juneteenth, celebrating the beauty, brilliance, and resilience of our Black and Afro-Indigenous relatives. Through poetry, books, conversation, and shared meals, we gather in love and solidarity, honoring the deep connections between our communities.

1162 E. 49th Street, Tulsa

Saturday, June 20 & Sunday, June 21

Featuring Afro-Indigenous (Hidatsa) artist, poet, author, and educator Marique Moss (Miriguá Miásh) and Mvskoke artist Britteny Cuevas (Mvskoke) of Four Locv Indigenous Arts.

Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness is located in Tvlse, Okla Humma, a city built on the treaty protected reservation lands of the Sovereign Mvskoke Creek, Cherokee, and Osage Nations, the ancestral homelands of the Kiowa, Comanche, Caddo, Apache, Arapaho, Quapaw and Wichita peoples.

We acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community.

We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and their Elders past, present, and emerging.
