Knowledge keeepers

A Knowledge Keeper is an Indigenous community member who carries, practices, and shares cultural knowledge rooted in lived experience, ancestral teachings, and community responsibility. Knowledge Keepers are recognized as culture-bearers who help sustain and strengthen Indigenous ways of knowing.

Through teaching, mentoring, and community engagement, Knowledge Keepers pass knowledge across generations, ensuring that traditions, practices, and values remain living, evolving, and accessible. Their work supports cultural continuity, community wellbeing, and self-determination by honoring Indigenous knowledge as dynamic, relational, and deeply connected to land, people, and identity.

The wisdom, creativity, and care of these Knowledge Keepers are vital to our work of reclaiming and revitalizing Indigenous knowledge systems.
